for you
so this is it.
Love is it.
we have a lot of fancy and derogatory terms for people who act like they know..."needy", "co dependent", "childish", "enmeshed"
but there is nothing else worth living for
and without Love the best of us fails to thrive
we need Love.
hunger for it before breath, food, water.
Love is it.
period.
there are millions of ways to deny and suppress our truth
millions of starvlings sleepwalking around
pretending not to ache,
not to overwhelmingly care;
to be satisfied with shallow, superficial ties
but,
this is it.
we. need. Love.
So frustrated that it will l likely be several weeks before our Song For Our Mothers Project is ready. It's been an exhausting and disappointing struggle to get this video made!! The hope and tenacity of the people we met keeps me ultimately positive. Just as there is no quick fix to the oil crisis, I'm in it for the long haul. In the meantime, check out our radio interview on the project and ways you can help. And stay tuned for more deets in the future!

Danielle Laporte was asked (by Erika Harris) "What in the world do we find at the intersection of collaboration and sovereignty?" She replied "Love..What else do you want?...It is the place where you are an individual but you are part of the whole...needed but you need...you can be seen but you can see..it's reciprocity; it's sexy. It's creative intercourse really...necessary.."
I've been writing a lot about this lately...the un-easy-ness of finding true love..romantic or otherwise ;) Digging Danielle's definition of it and her manifesto of encouragement which I'm re posting below. There is, of course, (always!) a song in the works - inspired by all these musings. In the meantime, check backstage for an excerpt of some fiction of mine on the subject
the manifesto of encouragement (originally posted on whitehottruth.com)
right now:
There are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.
Someone you haven't met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.
Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.
Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God's children.
A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, "nourish them."
Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you. Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favourite food is, and treat you to a movie. Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you -- for free.
Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.
The next great song is being rehearsed.
Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.
Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.
Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they'll be thriving like never before. They just can't see it from where they're at.
Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to ARRIVE, will get precisely what they want -- and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it's reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all "So worth the wait."
Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche -- this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.
Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.
Someone is fighting the fight so that you don't have to.
Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe. Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.
Someone is regaining their sanity. Someone is coming back from the dead. Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable. Someone is curing the incurable.
You. Me. Some. One. Now.

more on this at new moon...
leaves little sign of life
something less frail then faith
is certain
that buds plot just beneath bark's surface
moist earth sprouts beneath scorched blades
the signing
my contract stands
to let it burn
de la croix
let it burn
unstaved
unquenched
till it runs its course
taking out the trash kicks up a lot of dust
"ashes to ashes"
class is out and visibility is low low low
but there's no bars on my windows
so i'ma leap
unafraid
wait, well, still afraid but
i'ma leap anyways
reclaim my Word
I "only say the words"
and i shall be healed
fear...
&
love
I'm trying my best to choose love; surround myself with people who make loving choices...
I find, in hindsight, I've sometimes missed the mark...
Again.
The problem, I think, is all those subterranean fears - that we're afraid to name - motivating us anyways.
They're hard to recognize; reckon with; tame...
If heaven is a place on earth,
it starts with trying
Again.
In courage,
Loving
Again
